THERAPEUTIC FOSTER CARE
Therapeutic foster care is also called treatment foster care (TFC). TFC is out-of-home care by foster parents with specialized training to care for a wide variety of children and adolescents. At KIFS we offer the training foster parents need to address the emotional, behavioral, social issues or medical needs of the children they are caring for. TFC offers a more structured home environment that is both safe and nurturing. Becoming a TFC parent is an opportunity to make an enormous difference in a child’s life.
MEDICALLY COMPLEX FOSTER CARE
Medically complex foster care means offering the support and care that children with medically complex challenges need to thrive. Our application and licensing process ensure that our foster parents are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to offer a range of support including physical, medical and emotional to the children in their homes. We provide 24 hour support and ongoing trainings to our foster families.
RESPITE FOSTER CARE
Also referred to as short-term care, respite care is when one foster family temporarily cares for another family's foster children. It offers a break for the original foster family for a variety of reasons.
FOSTER TO ADOPT
We work with families who are ready to adopt a foster child. When families decide they would like to adopt their foster child we guide you through the legal process that ensures your child remains a permanent member of your family. If you are interested in learning more please get in touch!
