MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Many Ways to Get Involved
We strive to instill a sense of belonging, gratitude, and community participation for each child in our program so that they may learn how to give back.
There are many ways to help the children in our community from becoming a foster parent to volunteering to sponsoring a child. We would love to hear from you!
OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS
We would not be successful without the help of our Community Partners! We cannot thank them enough for all they do to support the children we serve in communities throughout the state.
Every year we throw a huge Christmas party for all our foster families and have received so much support from the following businesses and organizations that went above and beyond our usual gift collection for foster children.
Over the years we have been able to provide an entire Christmas to our foster families as well as household items to ease the financial burdens of foster families in need. Thank you to our generous sponsors who made this year’s Christmas party a success!

As of August 5, 2018 Kentucky has 9,608 children living in out -of-home care (foster care). This number is increasing but there aren’t enough homes to place children.
These numbers indicate a crisis in our state, in our communities and we need your help. Learn how you can help →
FOSTER TO ADOPT
Since 2003, Kentucky Intensive Family Services has provided therapeutic foster care services for the children in our care. But, did you know KIFS also offers adoption services? If you or someone you know has ever considered adoption, KIFS is ready and willing to help!
You can help foster a sense of “normalcy” for these children, by sponsoring a child’s community involvement, participation in sports, extra-curricular activities, clubs, and other interests.
Federal law has made it possible for children in the foster care system to experience childhood as they never have been able to before, but we need your help in funding their dreams! These children are smart, talented and resilient, and they want to have fun!
Sports or Extra Curricular Activities
We welcome individuals, families, and organizations to come out and learn about foster care, and help us give back to our community!
Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:
