Volunteer Love! Theresa Boehmer
Theresa Boehmer contacted KIFS recently to see if our foster kids could benefit from handmade, warm fleece blankets and of course we said yes! She showed up at our Fort Thomas office with large bags full of handmade blankets with a variety of patterns from mermaids to trucks to flowers. We asked her a little about her motivations and can’t wait for her next special delivery!
I had already done hats for the homeless and premies and was looking on Pinterest for a new project. I thought blankets would be good for the kids. I thought about children being pulled out of their home and wanted them have something they could have as their own and take with them.
Tell us a little about you.
I grew up in Taylor Mill and have lived in Fort Wright for 21 years. I have two boys and two dogs and I am a stay at home mom.
How did you get into sewing?
Looking for something to do and with the help of YouTube discovered these blankets!
What’s you next project?
