Over the summer KIFS received a grant from the Greater Cincinnati Foundation which was used for a yoga and mindfulness program for our foster children. KIFS reached out to Mint Yoga Studio in Fort Thomas about the possibility of a program which grew into a wonderful partnership with Project Yoga Cincinnati. What has been your experience as a foster parent?
It’s an emotional rollercoaster at times. I have a 17 year old that wants to challenge me all the time but after all is said and done we walk away and then sit down and talk after everyone is settled down. We don’t go to bed without resolving the argument. With my teenage girls I know we need to sit down and talk before it gets to the point of arguing and that taking the phone away makes it worse.Read More

You’ll never feel so much love for some of the children. It’s amazing the feeling you get from taking in children and loving them like your own. I would take them all if they would let me.
